Snipe hunt with F.A.I.R. 20-gauge XLIGHT over-under

Fabio Antolini, editor and reporter of the all4hunters editorial staff but above all a passionate hunter since childhood, field-tested our XLIGHT EM C.20 over-and-under model. Fabio inherited and cultivated the passion for hunting with pointing dogs from his father. His story of the hunting day shows all his experience and his predilection for this hunting activity.

Here’s how Fabio describes his snipe hunting experience with XLIGHT EM:

“Opportunities must be literally seized on the fly in hunting snipe and the days of walking following the dogs require agile shotguns in the swing with which the hunter is perfectly at ease both in transport and in the moment of holding. On hunting days in the valley I had with me the over-under that F.A.I.R. dedicates to the wandering hunt for its lightness and its speed of swing that I have had the opportunity to experience. The Xlight over-and-under, available in 12 and 20 gauges, owes its weight balance to the nickel-plated and finely laser-engraved Ergal action -body with gold-plated wildlife. In my case, I had the 20-gauge shotgun with 71 cm barrels supplied by the company, but 68 cm and 76 cm lengths are also available, making the weapon suitable for other types of hunting as well. The weight that in the 12 gauge does not exceed 2.7 kg in the 20 gauge drops to around 2.5 kg, ideal for types of hunting such as the snipe in which a large number of shots are not fired while traveling many kilometers on foot . Soft on the shoulder also thanks to the ventilated rubber butt plate, the Xlight over-and-under has a pistol stock and gooseneck fore-end made of selected European walnut and oil-finished. The trigger system is single selective trigger with golden trigger and the extraction of the cases available both manual and automatic. The action frame made with dimensions dedicated to the respective calibers makes the weapon not only effective but pleasant in shape; enhancing the lines of a shotgun that can meet the expectations of careful and demanding hunters.”
